Holy Week is the week before Easter, beginning with Palm Sunday and extending through Holy Saturday. It is the most intensive liturgical week of the Christian year, particularly in Catholic, Anglican, and Orthodox practice. Catholic and Anglican Holy Week includes Palm Sunday, the Chrism Mass (in many dioceses), and the Easter Triduum (Holy Thursday evening through Easter Sunday). Orthodox Holy Week is even more service-intensive, with services nearly every day from Lazarus Saturday through Holy Saturday and the Paschal Vigil. Evangelical and most Mainline Protestant practice focuses on Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.
