Pascha
The Orthodox term for Easter; called "the Feast of Feasts."
Pascha is the Orthodox term for Easter; called "the Feast of Feasts," the highest feast of the Orthodox liturgical year. The date is calculated using the Julian Computus rather than the Western (Gregorian) Computus, so the Orthodox date in many years differs from the Western Easter date by one to five weeks (occasionally coinciding). The Paschal Vigil overnight from Holy Saturday into Pascha Sunday is the central service of the Orthodox year, including the candlelit procession around the outside of the church and the proclamation "Christ is risen!" answered by "Truly He is risen!"
