The passages Christians read at the moments that matter: weddings, baptisms, funerals, confirmations, and the great festal seasons of the year. This guide gathers the most commonly used readings, in the most commonly used translations, with a short, neutral note on what each passage is and why it is chosen for the occasion.

How this hub will work

Every occasion guide includes its own readings section. This hub collects those readings together and adds cross-cutting indexes: readings by occasion, by tradition, and by recipient. Where a particular passage has a contested translation, an original-language word worth pausing over, or a context commonly missed by readers, the occasion page names the dispute briefly within the page itself.
